// Cleansing Your Space & Clearing Negative Energy

IMG_1545 As a person that works from home, it's becoming more and more evident that I need to be more aware of the energies lingering around my house. I actually came across a post on Instagram from this mamma I follow (@oh_thathippiemomwlotsofkids) about her blessing and cleansing her doors/windows with a sage, rosemary, bay, mint, and lavender wash to remove residual energy that comes in and out from it. Which I loved. She says this:

"The front door of a home is such an important space to be mindful of. It is where a rainbow of energy enters and leaves sacred space. Even if you don';g get many visitors on a regular basis, it's a space that can collect and hold onto the energy of individuals that come and go briefly. For instance a package being delivered, a neighbor asking for sugar, someone trying to sell something etc..

Some thing's we like to do is:
-Smudge Regularly
-Keep tourmaline and quartz near the entry way (other crystals make great options as well)
-Keep mint, rosemary, and lavender near the entry way. Or wash it often w infused water... just throw in a few tea bags to your washing water. Mint is said to bring luck and high vibration, while the lavender and rosemary help to purify negative energy.
-Color! A purple door is said to symbolize prosperity, honor, encourage inspiration and open mindedness. It's also a sign that witch lives in the home."

Well..... I guess I need a purple door!

So I did some further research about ways to cleanse your sacred spaces and clear negative or unwanted energy. Here's what I found:

> Sage / aka smudging, this was a big one that popped up everywhere. Burn your sage (which is great for inviting transformation), walk around the house, and twirl it in a counterclockwise rotations. Take time around corners, electronics, and bathrooms. You can also burn:

  • frankincense- produces hightened awareness/consciousness and elevates love
  • lavender- for balance, peace, and relaxation
  • cedar- for purifying, healing, and attracting positive energy
  • rosemary- for bringing clarity to challenges, creating new beginnings, and overall powerful cleansing
  • eucalyptus- to help heal a space of negative energy, especially after fights
  • mugwort- to enhance dreams
  • juniper- to increase comfort in your space
  • palo santo- for prosperity, love, good luck, and to ward off negative energy

> Room spray, this would be good if you can't burn sage (or others), don't feel like it, or don't like the smell. You can make one easily with clean water and essential oils like:

  • rose
  • lavender
  • frankincense
  • patchouli
  • cedarwood
  • cypress
  • sage
  • juniper berry
  • lemon
  • lime
  • myrrh
  • peppermint
> Cleanse your home with herbal infused wash. Herbs you can use:
  • Aloe
  • Basil
  • Bay leaf
  • Cedar
  • Chamomile
  • Cinnamon
  • Clove
  • Eucalyptus
  • Frankincense
  • Ginseng
  • Lavender
  • Parsley
  • Pepper
  • Peppermint
  • Rosemary
  • Sage
  • Thyme
> You can also fill dishes with the herbs above and place them on tables or shelves around your home, replacing every few months. A good idea would to also make protective sachets (or "charm bags") to hang on doors or even in your car! Combine with sea salt and crystals for extra protection!

> Play high vibration music, I've been playing 528 mhz music lately and there's really something about it. You can also walk through your home with a bell, chime, or singing bowl.

> Use crystals, crystals such as black tourmaline help to clear negative energy or rose quartz which replaces negative emotions with positive ones (could also be good for traveling if you are sensitive and pick up energies from other people). Special crystals for each room: here.

> Add more mirrors to add positive energy (chi). Avoid ones with sharp edges. This also help cleanse the mind and bounce more light around your space.

> Pour sea salt by entrances to absorb negative energy wanting to come in. You can also wipe down doors and windows with a mixture of water, lemon juice, salt, and white vinegar.

> Get a himalayan salt lamp to get rid of the negative ions hanging in the air.

> Keep flowers in the house for a source of natural light energy (red roses are best).

> Get house plants, they provide a constant source of light energy and help to keep the air pure and free of grossness.

> Rearrange the furniture, apparently they can accumulate heavy energy and moving them around can help break up stagnant energy.

> Declutter! This is one of my favorites.

I have already implemented so many of these (decluttering, rearranging, adding mirros, plants, smudging crystals, music, salt lamp, washing with herbs) and have noticed a *significant* change.

Your space is sacred, protect it <3
